Braveheart Tour of Scotland

Your  1 day EMacBus “Braveheart Tour of Scotland” starts in either Glasgow or Edinburgh with pick up points in the heart of each city. This is one of our most popular Glasgow Coach Tours.

The first stop on this tour is at the visitor centre at Bannockburn near Stirling. This is where Robert the Bruce defeated Edward 11 in 1314 which changed the path of history for Scotland forever. The centre is at the site where the battle was fought and with the state of the art 3D technology within the visitor centre you can experience the battle for yourself in 3D. Stop here for about 1 hour 15 minutes where you can go for a stroll round the site or have  a refreshment in the visitor centre cafe.

We then travel to nearby Stirling Castle where the story of Scotlands history continues. Stirling castle is one of the most important castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally. It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs giving it a strong defensive position. You can look down on to Stirling Bridge where the famous battle was so cleverly fought out by the Scots.

You have time to explore the castle at your leisure and entrance tickets to the castle can be obtained on the day or in advance.

After Stirling Castle your Braveheart Tour then takes you to Kilmahog where we break for lunch and a short break in nearby Callendar. Here you will have a short time to take in the sites of this typical highland town. We then travel to nearby Doune Castle one of the best preserved Medieval castles in Scotland.

It was featured in “Monty Pythons Holy Grail” and “Outlander” films.

After your visit here we will travel back to your pick up point in either Glasgow or Edinburgh where the tour ends.

Pick up times in Glasgow and Edinburgh at 9am with return times approximately 17.00

Cost from £30 per person. Ticket prices to castles and attractions are not included in the price and can be paid on the day or in advance by booking on line or with Emacbus Tours.
